AND SPECIAL ISSUE OF THE JOURNAL OF QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS IN SPORTS

The 2010 Northern California Symposium on Statistics and Operations Research in Sports is a meeting of academics and professionals with sports teams, sports media, and universities to present original research and discuss the pressing issues in the field of sports statistics. Presenters from academia, the NBA and MLB will be discussing their work.

Featured speakers this year are Sig Mejdal of the St Louis Cardinals and Roland Beech of the Dallas Mavericks.

The meeting will be sponsored by Menlo College, The Journal of Quantitative Analysis in Sports, and Statistics in Sports Section of the American Statistical Association. The symposium will include traditional oral presentations, research posters and a panel discussion. The proceedings of the symposium will be published in a special issue of the Journal of Quantitative Analysis in Sports (JQAS).
